Name: Rasetsu Kuroidon (Black Tempest, Void Reaver)
Age: 27
Gender: Male
Appearance: Rasetsu’s facial features are fairly sharp, with a nasty look in his eyes almost all the time (this isn’t really intentional. It’s just his face). His body is battle scarred, the most notable being one appearing of barbed-wire grating his chest, and on his right shoulder from his fight with Tokuzen. His hair is unusually spiky, with strands of white mixed in with a midnight black.
He never wears the traditional Kirigakure vest, preferring wear attire as he is comfortable. He wears a loose T with loose fitting black hakama pants to match. He wears black wrist guards which hold an assortment of needles. A black/gray-ish sash is tied around his waist. Figure-wise, he’s fairly muscular, but not on the likes of body experts. He’s got a moderately muscular build.
Village: Kirigakure
Rank: S-Class
Class: S-Class
Clan: [spoiler=Kuroidon]A formerly adept clan in Kirigakure known for their immense providence and remarkable skills in Ninjutsu. More than that they were regarded for their immense bloodlust, nearly reestablishing the former reputation of the Bloody Mist alone. Few of the Kuroidon clan members of the mist have their own doujutsu, the Yakeigan. The Yakeigan is known for its literal dark properties, which hold high standards in assassination missions.[/spoiler]
Kekkei Genkai: [spoiler=Yakeigan]
The Yakeigan is the rare Doujutsu that can be accessed by a member of the Kuroidon clan. It is considered one of the more diverse Doujutsu, as while its general applications are the same for every user; its color is different and wields a second unlockable ability unique for every user, which can only be accessed by excessive training methods.
The Yakeigan has three primary abilities; Darkness adaption, enhanced perception and dark chakra.
The Yakeigan is the ability to adapt to darkness. The Yakeigan grants the user night vision, which allows them to see clearly in the dark. Within a dark environment, to the user, everything appears well-lit. To some extent, masters can also utilize the darkness in an area to increase their movement speed, such as Rasetsu’s Kagedan (Shadow Step).
Its second primary ability is of clarity of perception. The user is able to pick up on otherwise subtle details, from simple things such as lip movement to reading an opponent’s movements during battle, down to the slightest muscle tension. In turn, this allows Rasetsu to react more accordingly, becoming more predictable to the user. However, if the user’s body isn’t in tone, no matter how fast they can see a movement, reaction speed is a must.
The last ability is of the unique nature of the user’s chakra. This varies depending on the color, though normally it’s black. The Yakeigan is able to give a large boost to Ninjutsu abilities by increasing the user’s chakra pool, and overall adding more power to jutsu. In particular, Rasetsu’s Suiton techniques are black/gray in color, andwith his Yakeigan’s affinity, their overall power is increased exponentially in short, calculated bursts.
Rasetsu has unlocked his unique hidden ability of the Yakeigan. It’s called the Onyx Void This is a space-time jutsu that allows the user to create dimensional portals for traveling between two non-adjacent locations. Rasetsu can also use this for access and storage into his own pocket dimension (called Onivoid). It can be applied by breaking a rift in the space-time continuum, literally creating a portal from destination A to destination B. Rasetsu must have knowledge of where he’s going and give a clear mental picture in his head. The longer the distance, the more chakra needed to use.[/spoiler]

character information

Personality: Rasetsu is a loudmouth, overconfident, reckless, and absent minded person, yet isn’t actually unbearable, to most anyway. He has a tendency to oversimplify everything. He does think extremely highly of himself. He has absolutely no manners, and doesn’t beat around the bush, he isn’t afraid to say exactly what’s on his mind. He will tell you he doesn’t like you in a heartbeat with no hesitation. Despite these traits, he is a caring and considerate person deep down, and will go out of his way to help a friend in need, or be there to watch them burn. Whichever sounds like more fun to him at the time.
Likes: Anything spicy, Beating the shit out of people in general, conflict, pissing people off with his obscene sense of humor, baggy clothes
Dislikes: Sushi or really any fish, bright colors, 'happy endings' (he finds them boring without conflict), most people in general (which ties in with his like of beating the shit out of people)
Relationships: The dysfunctional Kuroidon family; Kaizen Kuroidon [Older twin brother], Makura Kuroidon [Younger brother]
Strengths: Speed. He has much speed accelerating jutsu at his disposal, and a few S/T (Space/Time) Ninjutsu and relies on them heavily. His Ninjutsu skills are extraordinary. Monstrous chakra pool. Dark environments work better in his favor, clearly in his full power then. He is extremely brutal, and hits hard and fast. A very improvising fighter, he makes up most of his stuff spontaneously. His stamina is astounding, going as far as standing up on an empty chakra tank with multiple fatal injuries.
Weaknesses: Despite his monstrous chakra pool, most of his best and most reliable jutsu take an obscene amount of chakra. In pure light, Rasetsu’s speed is greatly diminished. He has next to no Genjutsu talent at all. His chakra control isn’t that great. Extremely rash, always running in head first despite the severity of any situation. Hand seal knowledge isn’t very high, leading to his small amount of elemental jutsu, relying only on the few he has learned, and the one or two he’s developed himself.
Fighting Style: Revolves around his high speed feats and very powerful offensive Ninjutsu. His Ninjutsu are draining, so he attempts no wasted effort. Has no problem fighting up close, as he is a very offensive and dominating fighter with dual gauntlets, especially using Senjutsu when his movements and senses are at their heightened best. Can be somewhat predictable, but is known for occasionally using brilliant tactics.
jutsu & techniques
- - - - - - - - - - -
Weapons: A pair of gauntlets
Secondary Weapon: Fūma Shuriken (Shadow Windmill)
Elemental Affinities: Suiton and Fuuton
Kagedan [Shadow Step]
Rank: A-S
The jutsu that Rasetsu first perfected that gave him his reputation of the fastest shinobi in Kirigakure during his reign as Mizukage. By using nearby shadows/darkness, Rasetsu can teleport from one location to the next within the dark environment. Must be within at least 10 meters of destination to use.
Kage Bunshin [Shadow Clone]
Rank: B
Creates an actual clone of Rasetsu. Chakra is evenly distributed among the clones from the original. Usually disappear after a few hits.
Gen'ei Tajū Shuriken [Multiple Phantom Shuriken]
Rank: A
This technique is very similar in both execution and result to the Shuriken Shadow Clone Technique. After throwing shuriken at their target and forming the necessary hand seals, can create corporeal replicas of the shuriken — turning a small amount of shuriken to a large amount in an instant with which to bombard the enemy.
Onyx Void
Rank: S
The awakened unlockable ability of Rasetsu’s Yakeigan. This creates a portal through the space-time continuum that allows Rasetsu access to virtually any part of the world, and serves as a medium to his pocket dimension, Onivoid. He is also capable of transferring people here. The technique itself is draining and invaluable to use during the heat of battle. Its chakra usage is fairly high along with the prep time, so it's physically taxing on Rasetsu.
Jigen-Kou [Moon Splitting Gauntlet]
Rank: A
A technique perfected by Rasetsu in three years. By using his gauntlets to split through space itself, Rasetsu can slice through the third dimension, tearing the existence of anything that is occupying the space he cuts. Since it literally cuts through the dimension, there’s not a large variety of defense against it, evading relying the most reliable option. A very powerful technique that can only be used sparingly during battle. Also dubbed the "Onyx Claw."
Suiton: Devastating Serpent Shockwave
Rank: A
Rasetsu creates a serpent, either by means of source water or generating volumes from his mouth. The serpent forms, while Rasetsu stations on its head. The serpent is capable of firing condensed water projectiles that are fairly devastating.
Rakshasa's Dark Mark
Rank: A
Rasetsu's hands will glow an ebony black. When placed against the chest, the center of the body's chakra network, this will place a "dark mark" upon their chest, from which will expand. For a short amount of time (about 2 minutes), the user's chakra network system becomes plagued, or corrupted. The chakra and concentration it takes to perform a single C-rank jutsu becomes exponentially high. Simple tasks such as walking on water prove more difficult. If treated recklessly, it can cause the user to sustain serious internal injuries.
Though in two minutes the seal will automatically dispel, in order to dispel yourself, it requires a high end understanding of Fuinjutsu sealing releases. Realistically, only a Fuinjutsu expert can dispel the seal themselves, and it takes prep time.
the description
- - - - - - - - - - -
Childhood
Rasetsu was born in Kirigakure to an unknown mother and father. He was the second born of three children; Kaizen Kuroidon (older twin) and Makura Kuroidon (younger brother). He's one of the few members of the Kuroidon clan to activate the Yakeigan, so the rest of his clan see great confidence and faith in him. For this reason, he had high expectations from his clan and expected great things out of him. He didn’t disappoint, and naturally felt no pressure, already feeling he was on top of the world, and wanted to prove it.
Graduation
At age 12, he graduated from the academy. At age 13, he became a Chunin. His first mission would be a real test, as he was forced into a predicament where he would surrender his own freedom, or take the lives of his comrades. Rasetsu didn’t mull it over, he selfishly killed off his own teammates, with no remorse afterwords. He looked down on all of their lifeless bodies with bloodlust eyes, signaling he had no regret. He was able to finish the mission himself, the village valued his results and praised him for his accomplishment.
Promotion to Jounin
Rasetsu became a Jounin a little later at the age of 16. He wasn't fully able to achieve all of the Yakeigan's powers, but he trained day and night, mostly night, for it. Even as a Jounin, he was only able of performing the most simple tasks with his Yakeigan, such as the night vision and the prediction of opponent's moves. He was angered at himself he couldn't master it quickly. Being impatient as he is, it really affected him, but this didn't mean he gave up trying. He still went all out and gave it his all.
Rise of Kumorigakure
Rasetsu was sent on a mission shortly after becoming a Jounin to Amegakure, in order to retrieve some top secret data between Kiri and Ame. He didn't go straight to Amegakure, however, he took another route in order to pass some time. He stumbled upon a village with clouds darkening the entire area. They were abnormal compared to the weather around the area. Curious, he decided to check it out. He entered Kumorigakure, seeing there was a huge battle going on between Konoha and Kumorigakure there. Even more curious, he headed toward the main tower, where the leader of Tasogare, the criminal organization running the village, Keisu Myakkan, was staying.
Upon arrival in the castle, he stumbled upon Yokube, the co-leader of Tasogare and the mad scientist behind the experiments. Rasetsu got into a short battle with Yokube, but was interrupted by the fall of the village. The battle was so intense; it sunk the entire village down into the depths of the underworld. Rasetsu escaped before Keisu brought down the village into the ground. Rasetsu headed for his original destination, Amegakure, not believing what just happened right in front of him. What interested him the most, however, was Yokube. He couldn’t get his mind off of him, finding him interesting and unique, unlike anyone he had ever faced, and the first person he had never subdued.
First Fall of Keisu; Tasogare's New Leader
Shortly after that horrific battle at Kumorigakure, Rasetsu returned to Kirigakure to meet his partner Kinshi. They exchanged a few words before Rasetsu left for another mission, this time a requested mission. He left Kirigakure, to seek another adventure. He was curious about Kumorigakure, and wanted to secretly find out more info about it. He was traveling through the forest of Konoha, when he spotted three shinobi dash by, Jesse, Tokuzen Moto, and Tsuri Hanaka. Curious, he stealthily followed them.
Rasetsu watched from afar, in the outskirts of the forest, the new Tasogare base. There was a destructive battle occurring between Keisu Myakkan and Jesse. In the end, Jesse won the brutal battle. Rasetsu finally made his appearance after Keisu's self destruction on Jesse, only for Jesse to survive.
Rasetsu aided Jesse as he arrived, for once actually being a nice guy. It was here that Rasetsu met Tokuzen Moto, his long time friend with similar goals, and Yamato Uzumaki, his future sensei. Rasetsu then headed off toward the edge of the forest, where he stumbled upon Yokube again. Rasetsu did what would forever shape the ninja world today. He took over the throne as leader of Tasogare....him and Yokube created a new base just outside of Takigakure, and it was there, their reign would begin once again. Rasetsu realized that finally, he was going to get the recognition he always deserved. He couldn’t attain it in Kiri, he had to go farther, and ensnare the world.
The New Mizukage
Rasetsu returned to Kirigakure later that day, to surprisingly discover that there was a new Mizukage. Rasetsu was startled, as it happened so fast. Upon meeting the new Mizukage along with Kinshi, they both decided there they didn't like him, suspecting he was plotting something. The Mizukage also had his face concealed, obviously showing he had something to hide, and something planned when he ordered Rasetsu and Kinshi to retrieve an infamous scroll from Konoha, the Akaken scroll, containing one of the six sage weapons, the Akaken Blade. A blade that concentrates particles of the user's chakra into the blade to form a blade of pure chakra based on the user's elemental affinity. It amplified the chakra of the user by triple amounts, making it a very destructive weapon. It was a very powerful blade, but only worked as efficiently as the user could manage.
Rasetsu and Kinshi left to Konoha, where they were to confront the Hokage about the scroll. In the end she ended up handing the scroll to Rasetsu, and he ran off...until it happened.
Tasogare attacked Konoha! Flame began rising out of the ground in many forms, erupting out like a storm across the village. All hope seemed lost, as Rasetsu grinned through the burning flames. All went according to plan. Tokuzen ended up sacrificing his life to save the village, but a dear comrade, one of Tokuzen's best friends, gave up his own life energy for Tokuzen. In the end, he laid on the ground, would be turned into dust in a mere few minutes. He was but a shell of his former self, cutting a straight line through his neck to end it all. Tokuzen lost someone very dear to him that day, and caused tons of damage....and it was all Rasetsu's fault, his ‘dear friend.’
Tokuzen faked his death in order to train and combat against Tasogare. Rasetsu attended the funeral of the brave shinobi and Tokuzen. Rasetsu, with his Yakeigan, was not able to see Tokuzen's body in his coffin. Rasetsu knew then Tokuzen was alive, and he knew for what purpose.
Upon arrival back to Kirigakure, Rasetsu handed the Akaken blade to the new Mizukage. Someone unexpected appeared at the window. It was Tokuzen Moto. The new Mizukage revealed himself to be the former leader of Tasogare, Keisu Myakkan! Rasetsu and Tokuzen attempted to capture and kill Keisu, but he was too slick. He disappeared from the Mizukage's office, with Akaken in Rasetsu's hands. He was surprised to see Keisu alive, but didn't let that stop him. Tasogare was under his control now. A minor inconvenience was all Keisu was, everything was still exactly set as it was rightfully so.
Sage Training; The Black Wolf of Kiri
Yamato appeared before Rasetsu one day, and offered to take him in as his student. Rasetsu accepted, and traveled with Yamato to a remote location away from civil life, where he received intense sage training. Rasetsu unlocked the Black Wolf Sage mode, and even challenged Okami to a battle, in the end barely winning and taking the prize as an official sage. Ever since then, Rasetsu has looked up to Yamato as a father, the two shared a bond similar to father and son.
Tsuri's Abduction; A Test of Friendship
Time passed as Rasetsu along with Tasogare had in possession three Sage Weapons. All three groups shared a similar goal, they each wanted the Sage Weapons, all for a different purpose. Rasetsu and Yokube ran operations through the new Tasogare hideout, which was just by Takigakure.
Rasetsu put on a mask, and traveled to Konoha, where he encountered Tokuzen Moto and Tsuri Hanaka. To get the war started, and to have something to bargain for when he acquired the sage weapons, he knocked out Tokuzen, and abducted Tsuri. Tokuzen was left there to watch with horror as the masked Rasetsu took Tsuri away. He could do nothing about it. Rasetsu did this with no remorse.
Rasetsu approached Tokuzen at his Estate a few days later, his head down in shame. He told Tokuzen he was the one who abducted Tsuri. Rasetsu seen the fury in Tokuzen's eyes. He assured her she was safe, and would be until it was all over. Tokuzen eased up some, but Rasetsu could only smile through his hidden sorrow. Rasetsu couldn’t help but smile underneath the mask. What a fool Tokuzen was, trusting so heavily in their friendship. It was going to be easy from here on.
Akatsuki vs. INS vs. Tasogare
The newly formed Akatsuki, led by Kaiden Yorukusa, had discovered of Tasogare and their plans, now set on taking them out along with INS. Akatsuki traveled to Kumorigakure, along with INS, where they all fought off experiments. The battle was intense, blood and explosions set off for miles across the wasteland of a village.
Rasetsu got into an encounter with Kaiden Yorukusa, the two leaders faced off. Kaiden kept claiming a God was coming to slay them all. Rasetsu had no idea what Kaiden meant, but he had a feeling it was going to be bad. Just then, a devil descended from the sky exceeding a flash of crimson light. It was Kimen Kurojin! The true Akatsuki leader had been revealed. Kimen wiped out the entire village of Kumorigakure with a single jutsu. Many casualties occurred that horrific day. It was one of the most destructive battles in history.
After the war was over, Rasetsu fled the remains of Kumorigakure, and everyone around him. He walked away into the foggy night, disappearing at the end of the road. Rasetsu Kuroidon had left, and was thought to never be seen again.
Dream's Reality; Goal Achieved
Many months later, Rasetsu returned to Kirigakure, and he had changed a lot on the inside. More patient and calm, and seemed to be a much better person now compared to his time in Tasogare. He met with Kinshi again, having a short chat with him. Upon his arrival, in need of a Mizukage, Rasetsu was appointed for the job, surprisingly. Rasetsu proudly put on his new Mizukage robes, walking across the balcony, waving to everyone in Kirigakure. He had done it. He became Mizukage. It was only a dream, he never thought it would happen, especially after his past, but it did. It actually did.
First Love; Family Feuds
While serving his term as Mizukage, his rule was genuine. He wasn’t exceedingly harsh, but not at all tolerant of failure. His leadership style was certainly unique, keeping everyone on the edges of their toes, as unpredictable a guy he was, they never knew what next to expect from the man. Rasetsu’s term was a fairly peaceful one, and would be for a while.
During his term, he met his soul mate, Misaki Kosui. She was a Jounin, and particularly a nuisance, as she pissed Rasetsu off on many occasions. In an act of redemption, he figured there would be nothing worse than being forced into buying his lunch, giving her the option of performing a C-Class mission or go on a “date” with him. She accepted the date, and from then on, the two began to form a closer bond.
Eventually, within a few months, during a proposal to his self owned island in Kirigakure’s borders, the Kurorashi Island, he proposed to her. She accepted. They wed, Yamato walking Misaki down the aisle, Tokuzen Rasetsu’s best man, the ceremony went well. At least, for a while it did.
Rasetsu’s long lost brother showed up in the middle of the ceremony, and declared that Rasetsu join his cause for Kurotaka, or be shunned from the Kuroidon name. Rasetsu claimed he was the one running away, which caused Kaizen Kuroidon, his twin brother, to give Yuichi the choice of joining Kurotaka or staying with Rasetsu. She chose Kaizen over Rasetsu, which hurt him dearly.
Kurotaka’s Last Stand
Rasetsu was staying locked on Kaizen’s activities, seeing what he was up to. While he agreed with Kaizen’s morals, his execution he felt was completely wrong, and would never attain true peace. Simply cleansing the world of its sins would not solve the problem, but his brother was deluded and convinced this was the only way. The two had many confrontations, but Rasetsu never caved in. This led Kaizen away, to the point he kidnapped Makura Kuroidon, their younger brother.
Rasetsu left with Misaki and members of the Seven Shinobi Swordsmen to retrieve his brother. While there, Rasetsu engaged Kaizen and an S-Class Kumo shinobi who was, ironically, after both of the Kuroidon’s heads. A three way battle insured, resulting in a draw. After rescuing Makura, they left immediately, leaving Kaizen in a rage, finally getting into his breaking point.
Kaizen finally snapped. He kidnapped Misaki about a month later, wearing the new “expressionism mask”, and claiming himself as the entity “Kaizor.” Rasetsu took up arms, and decided this confrontation would be the last. This time, an emergency drill was alarmed, Rasetsu summoned the entire Shinobi Swordsmen of the Mist to put an end to Kurotaka’s reign for good. Kaizor assorted the Kurotaka castle with an arrangement of unique devices and toys, simply playing with the Kiri shinobi. In the end, Rasetsu would rescue Misaki, yet his dear friend, Ryukazi, would stop him, informing him it would be wise to leave the castle as it is. Rasetsu, unwillingly, left.
A few days later, after self pitying himself, Kaizen was struck down by an assassin, known as the S-Slayer. This was the first phase in the conspiracy against the Mizukage, and the entire Kuroidon clan.
The Kuroidon Conspiracy
Rasetsu began to grow suspicious of the S-Slayer’s movements, and began to track him himself, leaving periodic absences from office, leaving Kinshi to do the work. Not long after Kaizen’s death, Ryukazi would be struck down as well. This would infuriate Rasetsu, to the point he became obsessed with the conspiracy, knowing it was anything but, at this point. He deserted Kirigakure, unintentionally, to finally hunt down and slay the S-Slayer, claiming he would stop at nothing until he was sure he was dead.
Return to the Material World
Rasetsu made a surprise return roughly two years later in Konoha, slamming into a tree embarrassingly. He came across a downed Tokuzen immediately after the Azure Devil had been slain, ending the Fifth Great Shinobi World War, which Rasetsu conveniently missed all of. Rasetsu playfully kicked Tokuzen, and caught up on him for old times.
Later, they visited Tsuri’s memorial at the estate. Rasetsu paid his respects for his friend at the site and left.
Rasetsu confronted Misaki not long after, and told he what he had to, about the conspiracy, why he was back, etc. She begged him to take her with him, but he couldn’t bear the thought of losing her too, and wanted her to remain in Kiri where she was loyal and had a job as a medical nin. Rasetsu left Kiri shortly after, and headed to the Moto Estate.
Upon meeting Tokuzen, the latter attacked Rasetsu in livid rage. Not much words were exchanged, but the two fought and gave it their all. Not only were they seeing it as a legitimate bout, but one between best friends. The fight they promised each other years ago when they first met, as Mizukage and Hokage (albeit he wasn’t technically Mizukage anymore). In the end, it could be considered a draw, but Rasetsu will always admit he beat the shit out of Tokuzen.
The “Trial”
Rasetsu returned to Kiri after a short tenure in Kusagakure, and talked with the current Mizukage. After Rasetsu gave his side of the story, and Mizukage explained of the happs in Kiri, it was decided, with the vouch of his comrades in the room, that his name would be cleared of all charges, and he was free to stay in Kirigakure once more.
Three Years Later
Three years have passed since then. Rasetsu remains loyal to Kirigakure, yet has taken a liking to traveling around the world, his name finally cleared and all. He has spent most of his residency in Kirigakure and Kusagakure. Since then, he has been training profoundly in his Sage Arts and his Yakeigan abilities.

*Insert spontaneous claw-kick combo here
The basics.
Black Wolf Sage Mode
After being trained in the Sage Arts by Yamato Uzumaki, he is capable of absorbing the natural energy by deep meditation, he can combine natural energy with his normal chakra in order to drastically increase his physical attributes.
While in Sage Mode, Rasetsu’s hair spikes up and takes up more wolf-like traits. He gains a body patch of black fur. His physical traits increase exponentially, gaining a much bulkier figure, his nails increase in length, his teeth sharpen to more canine-like.
When in Sage Mode, Rasetsu’s physical feats all increase intensely, his chakra pool becomes monstrous, near Bijuu-level, and his speed renowned as world class.
Sage Art: Instant Onyx Void
Rank: S
While in Sage Mode, Rasetsu is capable of conjuring without any hand signs or preparation, an Onyx Void portal. This is extremely draining on the chakra reserves, it can only be used efficiently once in a day.
Sage Art: Dai Jigen-Kou
Rank: S
Basically an improved version of the original. Grants a longer reach, and can be used more consecutive times.
Sage Art: Phantom Constellation Shower
Rank: S
Rasetsu creates a dimensional rift. The rift breaks down and shatters into many dimensional shards of epic numbers and sharpness, used to bombard the enemies. Due to the extensive and manipulative range of the jutsu, and the quickness that can be cast, it is extremely lethal. Since the shards are literally fragments of a void, they can tear through the third dimension, so defense by normal means is much like the Jigen-Kou.
